Abrams believes the familiar suburban setting gives the film a fresh identity, creating a striking contrast between everyday family life and unimaginable danger.

Heart Meets Horror

Director David Robert Mitchell drew inspiration from classic monster films such as The Lost World and King Kong, while also incorporating influences from The Twilight Zone, Signs, and classic Amblin adventures.

At its core, however, the film focuses on family. Ewan McGregor and Anne Hathaway star as Greg and Denise, parents navigating everyday relationship challenges while trying to survive an extraordinary prehistoric nightmare.
