The Spider-Man movies, especially the Tobey Maguire ones, have aged weirdly, and in a good way.

You could even make the case that Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy can be entirely a compilation of memes. This is actually a good thing because it shows how memorable the scenes from the movies are and how they stood the test of time.

Honestly, if you live through the digital age, you must’ve at least seen one or two Spider-Man memes floating around the web. And like with the He-Man memes compilation we did a few weeks ago, we’ve made another one based on our friendly neighbourhood – localised!

Yep, late nights rushing work, assignments, or just binging a movie.

The stomach growling comes to us all Malaysians, and the usual fix would be a warm bowl of Maggie noodles.

And since most Malaysians are naturally creative, we tend to add our own flair to our Maggie dishes.

The classic would be to add a simple egg, and we would claim the “Gordon Ramsay of Malaysia” status.

2. The Excitement of Fan Events

Meme Context: This isn’t an actual scene from the trilogy but a blooper reel where the producers asked the cast to make funny faces.

Celebrity worship is truly something in Malaysia and we’re all for it.

Spider-Man is easily, if not the most famous, superhero among Malaysians. Whenever there’s a Spider-Man brewing here, the fans’ Spidey senses will start reacting!

Meme Context: From Spider-Man 3, this is when the symbiote has changed Peter Parker, into gaining immense confidence. This iconic walk down the street is the physical manifestation of that.

Malaysia is extremely colourful with its multitude of races and religions living in harmony. As a result, we also get an abundance of public holidays!

If the timing is right, many of the public holidays fall in unison, which allows for a combo of holidays. Combined with the usual weekends, it is pretty normal for the working folks to casually have a 5-day break out of nowhere!

Plus, we haven’t even accounted for the annual leaves you can add to craft a perfect holiday streak.

4. Crazy Cinema Culture in Malaysia

Earlier, we mentioned the fan culture in Malaysia, and the one that could rival that is its cinema culture. Well, you can say they go hand-in-hand.

With that, it is almost unbelievable to think a place like Pavilion KL to not have a cinema operator after the departure of DADI Cinema in Mar.

The cosplay culture here in Malaysia goes wild. You usually see these events in ComicCon, and if we’re going local, Comic Fiesta. Well, what if we were to tell you that those are not JUST the only places where cosplayers gather to show off their costumes.

Friday is everyone’s favourite day of the working week. It’s the epilogue to a tough work week, and everyone loves a happy ending.
