Munafik: Melawan Iblis
TLDR: YouTuber Markiplier’s indie horror film Iron Lung is officially coming to Malaysia.
What We Know So Far About Markiplier’s Iron Lung
Iron Lung adapts the indie horror game created by solo developer David Szymanski. The story takes place entirely within a submarine traveling through an alien ocean made of blood, with players forced to navigate using only the submarine’s camera.
The film was self-financed, directed, and distributed by Markiplier, who also stars as the lead character.
No specific release date has been announced by either cinema chain at the time of writing.
Box Office Success
Initially planned for a limited North American run, Iron Lung exceeded expectations with an estimated $17.8 million opening day gross.
Following its U.S. success, the film is expanding internationally with screenings across Europe and Southeast Asia.
The Malaysian release marks another milestone in the film’s unexpected journey from indie game adaptation to global theatrical phenomenon.
