TLDR: Korea’s upcoming horror movie “Colony” has secured distribution outside Asia.

The film is set to make its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 15 as part of the Midnight Screenings section, where it will screen out of competition.
Also, there are other spooky and scary movie titles coming to TGV Cinemas soon!
Distribution Across America and the European Region
Several major markets have already been locked in ahead of the film’s debut. Well Go USA has acquired North American rights. StudioCanal will handle distribution in the United Kingdom.
Across Europe, ARP SAS has secured France, Plaion Pictures will release the film in Germany and Italy, Energia has taken Spain, and Mis Label will oversee Scandinavian territories.
In Asia, Edko Films has obtained rights for Hong Kong, MovieCloud will distribute in Taiwan, and Purple Plan will handle wider Southeast Asian territories, including Malaysia.
Additional distribution agreements have also been finalized across Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, India, Poland, Turkey, and Mongolia.
Director and Cast for Colony
The film is directed by Yeon Sang-ho, best known for Train to Busan, Peninsula, and the Netflix series Hellbound. Colony stars Gianna Jun in the lead role alongside Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-been, Kim Shin-rock, and Go Soo.
The cast is expected to attend the Cannes premiere and walk the red carpet during the festival.
Premise for Colony
Colony follows biotechnology professor Se-jeong, played by Gianna Jun, who attends an industry conference that quickly descends into chaos after a rapidly mutating virus is unleashed.
As the infection spreads and victims begin transforming, authorities place the entire facility under lockdown, trapping survivors inside as the threat intensifies.
Release Details
The film is scheduled to open in South Korea on May 21 and in Malaysia on May 22.
