TLDR: At D23, Disney announced that Angel will be joining the live-action sequel of Lilo and Stitch.

Angel Joins the Live-Action Ohana
Disney has officially unveiled the first teaser for Lilo & Stitch 2, confirming that Stitch’s pink alien counterpart Angel will join the sequel. Also known as Experiment 624, Angel originally appeared in the animated series Lilo & Stitch: The Series as Stitch’s love interest.
The reveal took place during Disney’s D23 fan event, where Maia Kealoha, who played Lilo in the live-action film, reacted to Angel’s appearance with a playful surprise as her antennae appeared on screen.
Riding the Success Wave
The sequel was fast-tracked into development just weeks after the first live-action film became a major global hit. The movie earned more than USD 1 billion worldwide, including USD 423.7 million at the domestic box office, giving Disney strong momentum to continue the franchise.
Chris Sanders, who co-created and voiced Stitch in both the original 2002 animated film and the 2025 live-action remake, will return to direct the sequel.
Producer Jonathan Eirich is also returning through Rideback, while Ryan Halprin will serve as executive producer.
Release Date
Lilo & Stitch 2 is scheduled to arrive in cinemas in 2028, following a similar release strategy to the first film.
The original live-action cast included Maia Kealoha, Sydney Elizabeth Agudong, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Magnussen, Hannah Waddingham, and Courtney B. Vance. Further casting details for the sequel have yet to be announced.
