TLDR: The upcoming Jumanji 3 has officially shifted its release date, moving from Dec 11 2026 to a new premiere on Christmas Day, Dec 25 2026.

Avoiding Direct Competition from Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three
The adjustment in release date appears to be a strategic move to avoid direct competition with two major blockbuster releases. The film was originally set to debut just one week before a high-profile clash between Disney and Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday and Warner Bros’ Dune: Part Three.
The latter has also amped up its marketing efforts by releasing several new Dune 3 posters.
By shifting to Christmas Day, Jumanji 3 now opens after this major box office showdown, allowing it to capture holiday audiences with reduced competition.
Other Potential Holiday Box Office Competition
Although the move avoids early December competition, Jumanji 3 will still face several releases during the Christmas period.
These include Focus Features’ Werwulf, a creature feature directed by Robert Eggers, as well as an untitled project from Paramount.
Not forgetting, The Angry Birds Movie 3 is set to arrive just days earlier on Dec 23, creating a competitive holiday window.
As a track record, the Jumanji franchise has been a major commercial success, generating more than USD2.02 billion worldwide across its previous three films.
The most recent installment, Jumanji: The Next Level (2019), alone earned over USD800 million globally, highlighting the franchise’s strong audience appeal.
New additions to the cast for Jumanji 3 include Dan Hildebrand and Jack Jewkes. The film will once again be directed by Jake Kasdan, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg.
