The Awkward Mix-Up Between The Manchester City Star and Spider-Man Star

Erling Haaland may be one of football’s biggest stars, but the Manchester City striker recently admitted to accidentally ignoring one of Hollywood’s most recognisable actors.

After meeting Tom Holland at the Monaco Formula 1 event, Haaland received a dinner invitation from the Spider-Man star, but never replied.

The reason was surprisingly simple: Haaland had no idea who Tom Holland was.

An Answer to the Unanswered Dinner Invitation

Speaking on the Norwegian television show A Laget, Haaland explained that he received a message from Holland after they met in Monaco.

Since he did not recognise the sender’s name, he chose not to respond.

Haaland admitted that he rarely watches movies and therefore didn’t realise the message had come from the actor best known for playing Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Everything changed when someone nearby reminded him that Tom Holland was Spider-Man. Once Haaland made the connection, he realised he had unintentionally left one of Hollywood’s biggest stars on read.

The footballer appeared genuinely embarrassed by the misunderstanding after finally recognising who had contacted him.

Haaland Replied When He Knew Who Tom Holland Is

Haaland admitted he now feels guilty about the mix-up and plans to send Holland a message. The striker joked that he had completely forgotten about the invitation until the story resurfaced.
