The Final Ride Arrives in 2028

After more than two decades and 11 films, the Fast & Furious franchise is preparing for its final chapter. Fast Forever is scheduled to hit theaters on March 17, 2028, bringing Vin Diesel and the franchise’s iconic family back together for one last ride.

What began as a street-racing action series eventually grew into one of Hollywood’s biggest global franchises. The series reached a new level of success with Furious 7 in 2015, which earned more than USD 1.5 billion worldwide.

All-Star Cast Reunites For a Send-Off

Vin Diesel will be joined by Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson, who return as Deckard Shaw and Luke Hobbs. The pair previously headlined the successful spin-off Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.

Louis Leterrier returns to direct the finale, with Christina Hodson and Michael Lesslie handling the screenplay.

Diesel has revealed that the final script left him emotional when he finally read it after years of development. Speaking during the franchise’s 25th anniversary celebrations, the actor said the story moved him to tears and convinced him that the team had found an ending worthy of the long-running saga.

Production Timeline for Fast Forever

Production is expected to begin in December, with the first trailer potentially arriving next summer. Diesel has said that the project went through multiple writers and several years of development before the creative team landed on the right direction for the finale.

The Franchise Will Live On

Although Fast Forever is expected to conclude the main theatrical storyline, the wider Fast & Furious universe will continue. Four television projects are reportedly in development, with Mike Daniels attached to write the pilot for the first series.
